Die Kunstszene im Libanon wächst in einem atemberaubenden Tempo. Gerade wurde mitgeteilt, dass im Jahr 2020 mitten in Beirut ein weiteres Museum eröffnen soll – und zwar genau an der Green Line, wo während der Bürgerkriegsjahre gekämpft wurde.“The plot of land is owned by Université Saint Joseph (plot no. 4781 in Achrafieh). A long-term lease agreement has been signed with USJ for the development of the Museum on a portion of the plot, with future educational and residential facilities for the USJ campus to be developed on the remainder of the plot. The site has a total of 12,603 square meters, 2,780 sq. m. of which will be dedicated to the Museum. The museum is a long term initiative organized by APEAL (Association for the Promotion and Exhibition of the Arts in Lebanon), a non-profit organization dedicated to showcasing and encouraging Lebanese artists and the global art scene. In addition to the museum, APEAL organizes scholarships and exhibitions, including the Lebanese Pavilion at Venice in 2013.“ (Pressemeldung)
